The goal is not simply to know Scripture, but to encounter God through His Word and leave changed by it.
Bible Study Model
The Rhythm of a Season
When every sister brings her portion, the whole Sisterhood is strengthened.
-
Each month begins with a shared Bible study theme that gives the Sisterhood a common direction for learning and spiritual growth.
-
Different facilitators lead throughout the season, giving women the opportunity to both teach and be taught.
-
Each facilitator prayerfully selects a topic and Scripture that aligns with the month’s theme while following what God places on her heart.
-
Every lesson is prepared around Scripture and reviewed to help ensure the study remains rooted in God’s Word.
“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”
Proverbs 27:17 KJV
The Weekly Experience
Our bible study sessions have a consistent flow that creates space for worship, Scripture, conversation, personal connection, and prayer.
-
Because we each connect with and experience God in different ways, creating space for both prayer and worship allows us to quiet the day, center our hearts, and prepare to receive what God may want to reveal throughout our time together.
-
Before we dive into Bible study, we pause to acknowledge how everyone is arriving. Each sister shares one word that captures where she is in that moment, giving us a simple way to become aware of one another before moving deeper into the evening.
-
We open Scripture together through teaching, questions, discussion, and reflection. Rather than simply listening to a lesson, sisters are invited to engage the passage, share what they see, and learn from one another as Scripture shapes the conversation.
-
Later in the evening and in smaller groups, sisters share the highs and lows of their week. Creating space to move beyond “How are you?” and genuinely know what one another is carrying, celebrating, navigating, or growing through.
-
We close the evening the same way we began it: in prayer. After sharing what is happening in our lives, we bring those things before God together, praying with and for one another before we leave.
“Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.”
Luke 11:28 KJV
From Scripture to Application
Every Bible study moves through three intentional questions that help us understand the passage, uncover biblical truth, and consider how that truth should take root in our everyday lives.
-
We begin with the Word.
We read the Scripture together and take time to understand what is actually happening in the passage. We consider its context, central message, and what the text reveals before bringing our own experiences or opinions into the conversation.
-
We explore the truth together.
Through questions, observations, and conversation, we dig deeper into what the passage is teaching us. We welcome different voices into the discussion, while Scripture remains the anchor that brings us back to biblical truth.
-
We carry the Word into real life.
We reflect on how the truth of Scripture meets us where we are and where God may be inviting us to grow. We leave with practical ways to respond, remembering that studying God’s Word is not complete until we consider how we will faithfully live it out.
