Sisterhood Agreements

Our Shared Goal

To grow in our relationship with Christ and with women.

We may be in different seasons, have different experiences, and be at different places in our walk with Christ, but we share the same desire: to draw closer to Christ and develop deeper, healthier relationships with women.

We aren’t required to be in the same place. We’re agreeing to walk in the same direction.

Our Shared Agreements

These aren’t a list of rules created for the Sisterhood. They’re commitments created by the Sisterhood..

These agreements were shaped by the women who actively participated in the first season of the Forever Becoming Sisterhood. Through honest conversation, reflection, and shared experiences, we named the values we believe are necessary for us to walk together well.

  • 1. Build Relationships

    I’ll take the time to build intentional relationships with other sisters. Learning each other’s stories creates the trust that allows grace and truth to be received.

    • If someone doesn’t believe you love them, any truth spoken can go in one ear and out the other.

    • Christ broke bread with every single one of His disciples.

    1 John 1:7

  • 2. Honor Boundaries & Capacity

    I recognize that love doesn’t require unlimited access, availability, or capacity. Sisters may be in different seasons and able to give different things at different times.

    • A person can be willing but not able. And a person can be able but not willing.

    • We don’t know the responsibilities or weight others carry.

  • 3. Interrupt the Cycle

    I commit to receiving a sister’s hurt, frustration, or need to vent with openness, while ultimately encouraging her to bring the concern back to the sister involved. I’ll be the bridge for my sister’s growth, not the blocker of it.

    • Don’t continue a cycle you have the opportunity to interrupt.

    • We do not build connection with one sister through disconnection from another.

  • 4. Lead with Curiosity

    I’ll ask questions and remain open to what I may be missing. Instead of quickly assigning motives, judging behavior, or deciding who someone is from a distance.

    • Every sister carries experiences, history, and context.

    • We’re all less ugly the closer you get.

    James 1:19

  • 5. Lead with Grace & Truth

    I’m willing to love my sisters enough to extend grace and speak truth, and I’m open to receiving both. This is not a passive sisterhood.

    • Grace doesn’t avoid truth, and it doesn’t mean acceptance of a behavior.

    • You can hand someone truth in a garbage bag; truth doesn’t excuse a lack of grace.

  • 6. Practice Discernment

    I’ll consider my motives, words, and timing. Not every thought needs to be spoken simply because it is true.

    • Discernment considers timing and who is responsible for delivery; it may not be you.

  • 7. Practice Self-Accountability

    I’ll look inward and consider my own actions, motives, and behavior. I’ll take responsibility for how I show up.

    • Remain teachable when truth is difficult to receive.

    • Examining ourselves first creates greater humility when we approach others.

  • 8. Seek God First

    I’ll pause and bring my heart to God before offering correction, addressing conflict, or responding from a charged place.

    • Prayer creates space between what we feel and what we say.

    • Before speaking, invite God to examine your heart and guide your words.
